Hello, my name is Kathy Collett and I would like to introduce myself as the Takeda AlphaNet Program Manager.
I have had the great pleasure of working with the Aralast/Glassia program since 2012 and look forward to continuing the Alpha journey. The passion of the Alpha community has filled my heart with wanting to help patients with their needs. My team will be available to assist any Alphas with their requests.
I make my home in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I have one grown son who served in Iraq with the Army and two grandchildren. My son and his family live near me in Virginia and I love spending time with them. In my spare time, I travel the country as a senior athlete with 2 senior women organizations in the Washington, DC area.
My background includes attending nursing school, a certification in hemodialysis, a certification in phone systems, an insurance license in Virginia for health, life and annuities and a Program Management Professional certification. I started out my career by working in the hemodialysis field in Washington, DC for the Metropolitan Washington Renal Dialysis Center. In 1980, I joined the Federal Employee’s Health Benefit Program and worked for 21 years closely with OPM, our medical consultants and our dental consultants on claims, appeals and plan brochure changes. Later, I worked with Active Health Management/Aetna for 7 years assisting patients with Disease Management processes, supporting 21 different disease states and supporting 18 different languages in the contact center. I had a short contract with CSC supporting a Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy contact center prior to joining Parexel supporting the AATmosphere program.
My Christmas present for 2017 was a 23andMe kit including medical review. I asked for this because of my mother’s family background of respiratory issues and my own frequent upper respiratory infections. My information came back that I am an MS.and currently being followed by a pulmonologist. This has convinced me I am in the right place with my Alpha family. I look forward to meeting you and helping in any way I can.
