Roger Bray

Hello, my name is Roger Bray and I would like to introduce myself. I live in Lexington, Kentucky with my wife. My story is somewhat typical of many Alphas. I went to doctors for several years before finally getting tested for Alpha-1. After I quit smoking, my primary doctor gave me a breathing test which led me to see a pulmonologist who finally diagnosed me.

Previously, I had a career as a systems manager in the computer industry, but since 2003 I have been working with AlphaNet. I promote Alpha-1 awareness whenever and wherever I can. I am involved as a substitute support group leader and also do some fund raising projects for the Alpha-1 Foundation. In my spare time I love racing cars and have recently passed the racing license exam and built a Cobra racecar.

When I was diagnosed, there was no one to step in and help me figure out all the details and it is very gratifying to help those who are now diagnosed get information about living with Alpha-1.
