Jenny Faull

Hi, my name is Jenny Faull and I would like to introduce myself as your AlphaNet Coordinator.

I share my home in the western Pennsylvania town of Grove City, with my husband and four children. I am passionate about my family and faith as well as AlphaNet.

I was diagnosed in 2006, after a wise neurologist I was seeing for Fibromyalgia symptoms questioned me about my cough. I told him I had the same cough/bronchitis every year from November through March. I never really thought anything about it; I just thought that was “life” for me. He asked me if I had any problems with my breathing, and I mentioned that lately I had been short of breath after dashing up the stairs or sudden bursts of physical activity. He had me tested and when the diagnosis came back positive for A-1, he sent me to a pulmonologist who told me we could just “wait on this”. I felt uncomfortable with that advice, and went to see my primary care doctor. As it turned out, my doctor had just attended a conference where Alpha-1 was one of the topics and she immediately referred me to another pulmonologist.

My second pulmonologist took the diagnosis seriously, and three months later, I was on infusion therapy. Incredibly, within two months after starting infusion therapy, I no longer had the Fibromyalgia symptoms. My wise neurologist, whom I had been seeing for six years, was able to release me from his care altogether. Since then, I’ve only had bronchitis once and, with regular exercise, I feel great and am able to do most anything I want, including training and racing in 5K’s for Team Alpha.

I worked as an accountant in the manufacturing industry for 20 years, and will always enjoy crunching numbers, but I’m thankful to have the chance to serve others now and to give back to the community that has given me so much.

I am excited about being part of AlphaNet, because it gives me an opportunity to live out Luke 12:48b, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be required.” I know that God created me with A1AD for a purpose that extends far beyond me. I consider the opportunity of being an AlphaNet Coordinator more than just a job; it is truly a blessing to be able to provide a listening ear, a helping hand, and hope to my fellow Alphas.

At home we have a small zoo in our meadow, including a full-sized horse, two miniature horses, a dog, cats and my personal favorites, Bucket and Clucky (my chickens). I enjoy outdoor activities, especially hiking, competitive race-walking, and camping. Indoors I love to knit and read. I’m also very active in my church; teaching and working with the music ministry.
