Jane TottenHi, my name is Jane Totten and I would like to introduce myself as your AlphaNet Coordinator. I live in Robbins, North Carolina, about 20 miles from the famous Pinehurst golf resort. A hospitalization due to pneumonia in 1997, led to my diagnosis when I was 36. The doctors could not get my oxygen level up and, after 10 days of testing, decided to check for Alpha-1. I began infusion therapy soon after my diagnosis and feel very blessed that I have been able to maintain my health ever since. I have been very involved in my career and have a background spanning the retail and manufacturing industries with jobs in areas such as purchasing, accounting and marketing. Most recently I was regional marketing director for a national tax service firm. I have realized this diverse background prepares me quite well for assisting Alphas with a wide variety of issues. As I’ve heard others involved with AlphaNet say, I don’t think of myself as a sick person, but rather, a person who is sick. I enjoy helping my parents, making gift baskets and reading anything I can get my hands on. The idea of working with other Alphas appeals to me greatly and I look forward to networking and helping you and others.
