Celeste Morris

Hi, my name is Celeste Morris, and I would like to introduce myself as your AlphaNet Patient Services Coordinator.

I live in Chicago, Illinois and have two grown children. I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and I absolutely love to travel. I was diagnosed with Alpha-1 in 1989, when, at a neighbor’s recommendation, I visited a pulmonologist at Loyola University Medical Center. Prior to that, three physicians were unable to accurately diagnose me. They told me I needed to get in shape, but I suspected that it was something else. I started on augmentation therapy immediately after diagnosis, and I continued infusing for 10 years. I have since received two lung transplants. The first, a double-lung transplant, took place in 2002 because of advancing COPD due to my Alpha-1. I received a second single-lung transplant in 2008 because of chronic rejection issues. Transplant truly gave me my life back. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

It can be a tremendous task to manage a chronic illness, I know. That’s why I am here to help you order your medications, track your progress and to encourage you. You have to learn the ropes with this disease and I am here and ready to help. My background is interior design, sales and marketing so I am used to coordinating projects and offering direction.
